Process - Buda Woodworks

Perfection Starts with Process and the Right Tools

Our proven process comes from decades of continuous improvement.

The Buda Difference begins with the process we have honed to perfection through a collective of 110 years of experience and ends with a client walkthrough best expressed by small gasps and the occasional “Whoa,” …. often extending to “Whoooooaaaaaa”.

A good, well-defined process is critical to ensuring that the final product meets the client’s requirements, is of high quality, and is delivered on time and within budget.

Our process involves close collaboration with our client(s), contractors, architects and designers. In the manufacturing process, we use the highest quality materials, employ traditional and modern techniques, and pay close attention to the details of the design. We build and install with efficiency, and securing everything as it should be. Any issues that arise are addressed promptly.

By having a solid process in place, we can ensure that we are consistently delivering high-quality, custom-made products that meet and exceed our clients’ expectations and enhance the beauty and functionality of commercial and residential spaces.

MEETING / ASSESSMENT

Our process always begins with an assessment of the plans, space and a meeting with all involved to discuss the vision, ideas and expectations. In this first phase of our process, we tour the space, take measurements and take copious notes outlining the client(s) interests and preferences.

MATERIALS
SELECTION

We work with a wide range of materials, including wood, metal, glass, fabrics, plastics and composite materials. The choice of material will depend on a number of factors, including the aesthetic preferences of the client, the functional requirements of the element we’re creating, the environment, and the overall design of the space in which each element will be installed.

DESIGN | RENDERS

Once the materials have been selected, we begin the process of designing – partnering with our client(s), architects, contractors and designers. This often involves creating detailed drawings and renderings of the railing to help the client visualize the final product. The design process may also involve working with our engineers and partner architects to ensure that the elements and products each meet all necessary safety and building code requirements.

MANUFACTURING | CREATION

Once the design has been finalized, we begin the manufacturing process. This often includes using our computer-controlled machinery to precisely cut and shape the materials, or it may involve our more traditional woodworking techniques, such as hand carving and joinery. In some cases, we utilize a combination of both modern and traditional techniques.

INSTALLATION | DELIVERY

After each product has been manufactured, it will be finished and prepared for installation. This often involves applying a stain or paint finish to wood railings, polishing and buffing metal products, or applying a protective coating to glass elements. We manage all aspects of the project from transport through delivery and installation. We work closely with our client(s) and contractors to ensure that the final product meets their exact specifications and is installed correctly.

QUALITY MATERIALS + SELECTION

We work with a wide range of materials, including wood, metal, glass, fabrics, plastics and composite materials. The choice of material will depend on a number of factors, including the aesthetic preferences of the client, the functional requirements of the element we’re creating, the environment, and the overall design of the space in which each element will be installed.
